I.

Too often do we constantly obsess over the beautiful words of a stranger. Their dance, their music, or their films. Sometimes, even a single dress or photograph is taken from their collection into our admiration. We take their art and peruse through each measure of it to make it ours. Take into possession every meaning they have ever represented and selfishly use it to construct the self that we would like others to believe we are. But the truth is that these strangers whom we think we know so well by name, we neither know by heart or by soul. Just like us, as we are now - someone understood only by the fragments of what we allow others to see, to know and to understand. You are a facebook profile, an occasional partner for cheap, mindless small talks between lectures, a faceless passerby on the train or bus. The anonymous, the unimportant and the disposable. All beginning with a problematic disposition to draw the blueprints without really being the architect of our own minds.

So henceforth begins my answer to why there is absolutely no reason to harp on the often unfounded worries that we have about ourselves. Too often, do we make the mistake of judging ourselves through others. And then in an ironic recourse, doubt the authenticity of our own decisions and start to wonder if the choice we made was for ourselves. Or was really more of a decision to diffuse the imaginary judges in our head. We worry and we worry again, everyday. Are we pretending to be somebody else that we are not? And why are we doing that, when we daresay so loudly that we hate and will hate so intensely when another does so? But the probable fact is this- all of this don't matter and have never mattered. The self, is never static and ever changing. All that we allow to disturb us are only disturbing because of our permissions for them to function as a disturbance. In the end, the only person that you will end up becoming is yourself.
